HPA Families,
In the coming 2024-2025 school year, we will be moving to a school dress code policy that does not require the traditional school uniforms. This past spring members of our student council proposed these changes, which were then supported by a majority of our families (more than 60% of our community supported this change), and voted into policy in June. You can find all of the details of the dress code available in the updated dress code policy, however, here are a few highlights:
- Students are allowed to wear non-uniform clothes to school. (Shirts do not need to have the school logo, and pants do not have to be a certain color.)
- Students are expected to wear close-toed shoes (to keep safe on the playground). No house shoes are allowed.
- No pajama pants are allowed, unless a teacher designates for a specific class celebration.
- No profane, vulgar, or offensive language on clothing will be permitted.
We hope that the change in this policy will allow our scholars the freedom to express themselves and our families more flexibility to purchase affordable clothes for school. We appreciate your partnership in adhering to this new dress code!
If you have questions regarding these changes, please email info@highpointacademy and we would be happy to help!
