We are excited to announce our Empowerment Panel, a space designed to develop self-awareness, self-respect, vulnerability, and empathy for 6th-8th grade students. This event will allow students to connect with community members who will share their personal stories, discuss the challenges they’ve overcome, and provide students with valuable coping strategies for navigating life’s obstacles.
Our goal is to:
- Create a supportive community for students
- Build resilience by learning perseverance through challenges
- Equip students with practical coping skills for everyday life
We want families to be aware that we will cover several important and sensitive topics including race, identity, addiction, suicide, and their potential consequences such incarceration and death. During the panel, and conversations may be raw and emotional. Our participants will openly share their experiences, providing valuable insight into overcoming adversity and pursuing success, despite trials and tribulations.
This event is a powerful opportunity for students to learn, grow, and gain a deeper understanding of themselves and others.
